Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2025
1. Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Faktur (“we”, “our”, or “us”) — an invoicing application for freelancers and small businesses, available on iOS, Android, and the web. By creating an account, downloading the app, or otherwise using Faktur, you agree to these Terms and our Terms of Service.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Faktur. If you are using Faktur on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.
2. Description of the service
Faktur lets you create and manage invoices, store client information, configure business profiles, track payment status, and share invoices with your clients. Features available to you depend on your plan — a free tier with limited access, or a paid Pro membership with full access to premium features.
We may update, improve, or discontinue features from time to time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes that affect how you use the service.
3. Eligibility & account
You must be at least 16 years old to use Faktur. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to provide accurate information when registering and to keep your account details up to date. Notify us promptly at hello@faktur.website if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
4. Membership & subscriptions
Faktur offers a free plan and a paid Pro membership billed on a monthly or yearly basis. Pricing, included features, and any free trial period are displayed in the app at the time of purchase and may vary by platform or region.
- Free plan — provides access to core invoicing features subject to any usage limits shown in the app.
- Pro membership — unlocks premium features for the duration of your active subscription.
- Monthly & yearly billing — subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- Free trials — if offered, a trial converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before it ends. You will be charged the displayed price when the trial expires.
5. Payment, billing & refunds
Purchases made through the Faktur mobile app are processed by the platform from which you downloaded the app:
- Apple App Store — for iOS subscriptions.
- Google Play Store — for Android subscriptions.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the price shown in the app.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on iOS, or Google Play → Subscriptions on Android). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to Pro features until then.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies. Faktur does not process refunds directly for in-app purchases. To request a refund, contact Apple or Google support through your purchase history.
6. Your content & responsibilities
You retain ownership of the business information, client data, and invoice content you enter into Faktur (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display Your Content solely to provide and improve the service.
You are solely responsible for:
- The accuracy and legality of invoices, tax amounts, and business information you create.
- Ensuring you have the right to store and use client data you enter.
- Complying with applicable tax, accounting, and invoicing laws in your jurisdiction.
Faktur is a tool to help you create and manage invoices. We do not provide tax, legal, or accounting advice.
7. Invoice sharing
Invoice pages can be accessed via a direct link without requiring the recipient to have a Faktur account. Anyone with the link can view the invoice, including your business details and the client's information as shown on the invoice.
You are responsible for who you share invoice links with. Do not share links with parties you do not intend to disclose that information to.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Faktur for any unlawful purpose or to create fraudulent invoices.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where permitted by law.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service without our written permission.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or use the service in a way that harms us or other users.
9. Intellectual property
Faktur, including its name, logo, design, code, and documentation, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding except as needed to use the service.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
Faktur is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that invoices generated will meet specific legal requirements in every jurisdiction. You use Faktur at your own risk.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Faktur and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Faktur is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or fifty euros (€50), whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
12. Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us. Deleting your account permanently removes your businesses, clients, invoices, and associated data.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Upon termination, your right to use Faktur ends immediately, except that provisions which by their nature should survive (such as liability limitations and intellectual property) will continue to apply.
Cancelling a Pro subscription does not delete your account. Your account reverts to the free plan when the current billing period ends.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. For material changes, we may also notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of Faktur after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the country in which Faktur is operated, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
15. Contact
